IMPORTANT TIPS TO FINISH YOUR EXAM ON TIME

Finishing the exam paper on time is really important as this way you attempt all the questions and also get the time to revise your paper. If you find it difficult to finish your exam on time, here are some tips that you should keep in mind while writing your paper.

Utilise the Fifteen Minutes Effectively: You get the first fifteen minutes to read the question paper.  Make sure that you read the questions thoroughly and analyse the answers.

Start Instantly: After you have read the questions, do not waste time on scanning your paper anymore. Do not even wait to see your friend’s reaction after receiving the paper.  Just concentrate on your paper and start answering the questions.

Answer the Questions which you Know: The sensible way to solve a question paper is to first attempt the questions which you know. Do not waste time thinking about answers for the questions which you have no idea of. This way even if you run out of time, you will not have the fear of leaving a question for which you knew the answer.

Avoid Taking Breaks: It is advisable that you avoid taking breaks in the examination hall as this will save your time. Go to the washroom before you sit for an exam and bring your water bottle along with you.

Be Alert: Alertness is really important while writing the paper. Since you are attempting the questions that you know first, make sure that you put correct question numbers with your answers to avoid any confusion while checking. Create a Study Plan for your Entrance Exam Preparation

9. prevent boredom. Study sessions should have enough variety in terms of topics and activities to prevent boredom and loss of effectiveness;

10. Assess yourself. Take diagnostic or practice tests. Analyze the result. Mark the areas you could consider your weak areas. Concentrate on these areas when you begin studying.

11. avoid cramming before the exam; and

12. don't forget to include regular breaks.

KCET 2016 Notification & Exam Dates

Karnataka Common Entrance Test popularly known as KCET 2016 is a state level exam. It is conducted to offer admission in to undergraduate Medical and Dental programmes in as many as 42 medical colleges and 38 Dental Institutes of Karnataka. Applicants shall fill the application form till March, 2016. KCET Medical Exam is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Applicants will be provided with the rank, based on the ranking of the applicants in the KCET, counseling will be conducted and admission will be given to the respective colleges. KCET 2016 Medical Exam shall be held in the month of May, 2016.

KCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are eligible for the examination only if they satisfy following condition: Applicants ought to pass in Higher Secondary Certificate examination or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually can apply for the examination. 

Applicants should have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% in Higher Secondary Examination in English, Physics, Chemistry or Biology subjects taken together to apply for the examination (40% in case of SC/ ST/ OBC category)

Candidates who are interested must fill and submit the KCET Medical 2016 application form.

Steps for applying for KCET Medical form are mentioned below:

For Karnataka Students

• Applicants will get the application forms from the participating schools / colleges located within Karnataka.
• Applicants have to first download the bank challan from KEA website by entering their name, date of birth, category and the name of the bank.

• Applicants have to pay the application fee in any of the respective bank branches.
• The bank will retain a copy of the challan and handover the remaining two copies of the challan to the applicants.
• Applicants have to handover the challan to the concerned school / college principal to obtain the brochure.

For Non Karnataka Students

• Applicants of Karnataka source residing outside the state of Karnataka including Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadigas and wards of Jammu & Kashmir migrants can obtain the Karnataka CET 2014 application form through speed post.
• Candidates have to send a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25cm x 30cm along with a demand draft (DD) of Rs 750/- drawn in favor of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore.” payable at Bangalore.
• The Karnataka applicants residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a DD of Rs 5,000/- to KEA.
• Applicant should write the contents in the envelope in English or Kannada language only.
• Applicant need to send the DD and envelope in a cover and should be boldly super scribed with the words “REQUEST FOR CET-2016 BROCHURE” and must sent to the address of Executive Director by speed post only.

KCET 2016 Exam Pattern

• The test comprises of 180 multiple choice questions (60 from each section of Biology, Physics and Chemistry)
• Applicant 1 mark will be added for each correct answer and no marks will be deducted for any wrong answer.
• Duration for each paper is 80 minutes.
• The distribution of subject and question for the exam is as follows.

Qualifying Marks: The qualifying mark in the entrance exam for general category candidate is 50%, while 40% is for SC, ST and OBC categories. How to Appear in Entrance Exam - Do's & Don'ts

Students might feel pressure and nervous on how to attend, what to do and what not to do in the examination. 

We have a few instructions to keep you away from the confusion. 

Follow the below given instructions. It helps you know what are the restrictions and needs in your examination followed by the tips, can help you prepare yourself as the best you can do. 

Go ahead. Do's is as following. 

• Carry the admission ticket and read the instructions printed behind it. 
• Always carry only a blue or black ink ball point pen, for marking answers on the OMR Answer Sheet.
•  Be present in the examination centre at least 30 mins before the commencement of the test. 
• While entering the name, be careful and enter as it is in the 2nd PU/CBSE/CISCE. Enter the Admission Ticket and version code of the Question Booklet and shade the respective circles on the OMR Sheet and completely fill/darken/shade the circles on the OMR Answer Sheet.
•  Affix the signature on the bottom portion on the OMR Answer Sheet without fail and affix the left hand thumb impression on the bottom portion of the OMR Answer sheet only, at the end of each session of the test without fail. 
• Do not forget to collect the bottom sheet replica (Candidate Copy) of the OMR Answer Sheet from the invigilator after the completion of each session of the test. 
• Shade only one circle corresponding to the correct answer. 

Dont's are as following: 

• Aspirants are strictly ordered- Not to carry slide rules, Mathematical Tables, Markers, White Fluid, Erasers and Modern Electronic Equipments such as Mobile Phones, Blue Tooth, Lap Tops, Calculators/Watch Calculators, Pagers, Wireless sets, Notepad, I-Pad, Ear Phones etc, into the examination hall. 
• Do not damage the perforation provided on the OMR sheet. Do not spread the ink on the other places of the OMR Answer Sheet while affixing the Left Hand Thumb Impression. 

Please Note : 

• Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after the 3rd bell ie.. after 10:40 am in the morning session and afternoon session 2:40 pm. 
• Once the candidate darkens a circle, there is no way to erase or to remove it. So, think twice before shading the option in the OMR Answer Sheet.

 More Tips on What to do and what not to do on the Day of examination. 

Know your test. Make sure you know the format and scoring standards of your test ahead of time. Take a sample test before the big day to get a sense of the pacing and level of difficulty. For more advanced preparation, books, software and prep courses are available. 

Check and double-check the location and time of your test. If you miss your test date, you may not be able to take the test in time for college admissions. Also, be sure you know exactly what you need to bring with you (e.g. your I.D., admissions ticket, calculator, etc.). 

Give your body what it needs. Get plenty of sleep the night before and make time for a well-balanced breakfast. Your brain will thank you. 

Provide for your own comfort and convenience: 

• Arrive early. Locate bathrooms and drinking fountains and make yourself at home. Dress comfortably. Be sure to bring a sweater or jacket in case the room is cold. 
• Bring a snack. An energy recharge during breaks can really help. 
• Be prepared for emergencies. Bring extra pencils and erasers just in case. 
• Read the directions and test questions carefully. This is especially important for multiple-choice questions in which you may be asked to choose the best answer (i.e. all answers could be correct; only one is best). 
• Pace yourself. Pay attention to how many sections you must complete and allot a reasonable amount of time for each section. If you get stuck, just move on. You can always return to the most difficult questions once you have answered the easy ones. 
• Before time is up, review your work. Make sure you have marked your answers clearly and fully and that your responses on the answer sheet correspond to the correct questions. Mismatch the questions and answers by just one space and you will miss all the questions.
